REKA Symposium EU and Ukraine

Ukraine in the EU: geopolitical and economic opportunities

Monday, March 4, 12:30 – 16:30, Int’l Press Center Nieuwspoort in The Hague

On behalf of the Russia & Eastern Europe Knowledge Alliance (REKA) we cordially invite you to attend the symposium Ukraine in the EU: geopolitical and economic opportunities On Monday, March 4 from 12:30 to 16:30 in International Press Center Nieuwspoort in The Hague, Netherlands.

Now that the European Council has green-lighted accession negotiations between Ukraine and the EU, debate often centers around the upcoming challenges for both the EU and Ukraine. The possibly long road towards Ukraine’s accession can pose significant challenges. Perspective is of great importance.

During the REKA symposium, we will discuss the possibilities of a potential Ukrainian membership to contribute to both a more secure and economically stronger Europe. We do so with experts and policymakers, in two sessions: one from a geopolitical and one from an economic perspective. In between sessions and after the symposium, there is ample room for networking. The symposium will be in English.

Keynote speakers at the symposium will be François Heisbourg (IISS) and HE Oleksandr Kubrakov (deputy prime minister for the Restoration of Ukraine). We will soon provide a more detailed program with speakers and practical information. The symposium is organized by OpenDoorUkraine, Raam opRussia, and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee, within the framework of REKA.

We are looking forward to welcoming you on March 4 in The Hague.

Met vriendelijke groeten,

On behalf of the organizers,

Kees Klompenhouwer
