We are pleased to announce the start of the creation of a space for the Veteran Mental Health Care of Excellence (VMHCE), which is being implemented under the supervision of Human Rights in Mental Health-FGIP
FGIP is an international organisation that works to promote human rights in mental health and to introduce innovative approaches to the treatment and support of people with psychological trauma.
The Veteran Mental Health Care of Excellence will become a research and clinical space to develop an evidence-based methodology for helping veterans in Ukraine. Particular attention will be paid to training specialists and collecting effective methods of work. Half of its activities will be focused on training and development of the veterans’ care system that is already being developed and operated by the Psychiatry Clinic of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The grant for this important project was provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
OpenDoorUkraine.nl, in turn, will assist in the creation of a physical space for the Centre that will meet modern standards and become the basis for the future development of the mental health system in Ukraine.
