Irpin-1 OSBB Novooskolska Phase two: facade repair and insulation

Reconstruction of the facade and insulation of a residential building in Irpin.
After the successful reroofing of the five-storey residential building, which prevented further capital destruction after war damage, the Irpin-1 OSBB Novooskolska Phase Two project became an essential necessity. Because almost all of the insulation material had been burned during the conflict, this follow-up project was crucial to protect the building against mold, moisture and energy inefficiency. The primary goal was to create a welcoming environment that would allow more families and ground-floor business stores to return to the building.

Status:

Completed

Financial information:

  • ODU Contribution: EURO 35,000 (Source: Refugee Foundation)
  • Estimated contribution from local authorities (mainly insulation materials): 26,000 euros

Target group and results:

The completion of the second phase was an important milestone: approximately 80% of residents were able to return to their apartments. Ground floor shops, which are essential to the community’s livelihood, have also reopened their doors. This project effectively addressed the immediate issues of moisture, mold and energy conservation, promoting a more comfortable and sustainable living environment.

Furthermore, with the completion of this phase, all structural damage caused by the war had been fully repaired. Although some repairs still need to be made to the top floor apartments, this project has managed to revitalize the overall integrity of the building.
