Rawblox, one of the leaders in the field of construction using natural materials, has developed a mobile production line for the rapid manufacture of straw bale houses. This allows for a rapid response to the need to rebuild housing in Ukraine, especially in the affected regions.
ODU is coordinating this project to ensure that it meets all local building codes and community needs, and is working with architect Alexander Kucheravy on making sure these ecological, energy-efficient homes meet EU 2030 construction legislation guidance.
The experience gained in this project will also be useful for the Dutch construction sector as we develop new standards for the certification of sustainable homes.
This project is an important step towards the sustainable development and reconstruction of Ukraine, demonstrating how innovative technologies and sustainable materials can be combined to create sustainable housing.
