Over the weekend, our long-standing partner Yuriy Bova, Mayor of Trostyanets (Sumy region), visited the OpenDoorUkraine.nl office in Kyiv.
We discussed further steps for cooperation within the Build Back Bio initiative, as the first production line has already arrived in Ukraine!
The Build Back Bio programme is being implemented by a consortium of OpenDoorUkraine.nl, Hempire UA and Rawblox with the support of the Ukrainian Partnership Programme (UPF), funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The goal of Build Back Bio is to create 450 innovative bio-houses using straw and hemp-based materials. Such buildings are energy-efficient, affordable and environmentally friendly — they reduce CO₂ emissions, create jobs and revitalise local communities.
Together with Yuriy Bova, we discussed joint cooperation and the future of the Trostyanets community, which will become one of the first communities where eco-reconstruction will become a reality — taking into account the principles of the Green Deal and the local economy.
We are grateful for the partnership, shared vision and desire to make Ukrainian reconstruction not just fast, but sustainable and bio-oriented.
