An important step in the implementation of the Build Back Bio project – our partners Rawblox are completing the construction of a mobile production line, which will be shipped to Ukraine in September.
The production line has undergone key improvements that ensure complete flexibility in working with any type of straw bale — round, small or large, regardless of format or supplier. Each bale undergoes complete preparation: shredding, cleaning of impurities, moisture and weight control.
This significantly reduces waste, lowers dust emissions, extends equipment life and reduces maintenance requirements. Thanks to the line’s autonomy from the power supply, it can be operated even in difficult conditions, and the optimised process allows only two operators to work without loss of productivity.
Build Back Bio is a joint initiative of OpenDoorUkraine.NL, Rawblox and Hempire UA, aimed at creating 450 affordable, circular bio-based houses in affected communities in Ukraine.
This project is funded by the Ukrainian Partnership Facility (UPF). UPF is a programme of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, implemented on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. UPF supports projects for the elimination of the consequences of destruction and reconstruction in the public and private sectors. UPF aims to promote the recovery and sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy and society in the areas of water supply, healthcare, circular reconstruction, sustainable energy and agriculture.
We are grateful to all our partners for their trust, support and shared vision of a sustainable, accessible future based on innovation and respect for the environment.
