Today is a special day – children are back at their desks in one of the schools in the Trostyanets community. This became possible thanks to the combined efforts of international partners, local authorities and caring people.
Last year, the OpenDoorUkraine.nl team, together with the Dobrobat charity foundation, worked to restore the school: the roof was repaired and interior work was carried out. Partners from the municipality of Hof van Twente provided modern furniture that found its place in the school’s classrooms. In addition, the construction of a modular shelter was started to ensure that children can officially attend classes offline.
Also, OpenDoorUkraine.NL received a €5,135 donation from a Dutch group of friends who celebrated their 70th birthdays. In cooperation with the Ukrainian charity foundation “Dobrota”, these funds were used to provide essential educational materials for the school. This included a full interactive set: a multimedia board, printer, laptop, power backup system, a multifunctional A3 color printer, and new textbooks. The total cost of this educational project amounted to 261,616 UAH.
Special thanks to our Dutch friends Patrick van’t Haar and Zander Lamme, as well as to the mayor of Trostyanets, Yuriy Bova, for their continued support and faith in the future of this school.
Together, we can rebuild, reunite, and return hope to communities ravaged by war.
