On 18 November, the OpenDoorUkraine.NL team, together with partners Rawblox and Hempire UA, held a presentation of the Build Back Bio project in Trostyanets, Sumy region.

During the event, the Build Back Bio reconstruction model was presented, combining the use of natural materials, modern energy efficiency standards and rapid construction speeds to create high-quality and affordable housing. Participants were presented with the bio-based construction model which uses Rawblox straw panels and Hempire UA hempcrete.

The event was aimed at community representatives, local residents and internally displaced persons who have lost their homes as a result of the war.

It is worth noting that the OpenDoorUkraine.nl foundation has a long and positive history of cooperation with the Trostyanets community. In previous years, our team, together with our partners, has implemented a number of important restoration projects: reconstruction of the war-damaged roof of a local school, demolition work at the school which was carried out in collaboration with DOBROBAT, construction of a school bomb shelter, a clinic, and a private home.

This shared experience has created a solid foundation for new initiatives and systematic work on further reconstruction and resilience of this hromada.

The OpenDoorUkraine.NL team expresses its sincere gratitude to the head of the Trostyanets community, Yuriy Bova, for his support in organising the presentation, constant communication, and willingness to facilitate the implementation of projects aimed at rebuilding and developing the community. His openness and cooperation are an important factor in the successful promotion of the Build Back Bio initiative.
