Yesterday, the OpenDoorUkraine.NL team had the honor to join an important meeting in Kyiv with the participation of Professor Ineta Dabašinskienė, the newly elected rector of Vytautas the Great University (Lithuania), Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Volodymyr Buhrov, Rector of Mariupol State University Mykola Trofymenko, as well as representatives of the Lithuanian Embassy and international organizations.
One of the key points of the program was a visit to the Veterans Mental Health and Care Excellence Centre (VMHCE) based at the University Clinic of Psychiatry of the National University of Kyiv. The project to reconstruct and establish the Center is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the FGIP organization and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine.
OpenDoorUkraine.nl, in turn, will contribute to the creation of a physical space for the Center that will meet modern standards and become the basis for the future development of the mental health system in Ukraine. More than 1400 m² will be transformed into a modern space for recovery, support and development.
We are grateful to the volunteers of the Brave to Rebuild Charitable Foundation and Dobrobat volunteers who are actively involved in the repair work and creation of new infrastructure that will meet the highest European standards.
This project is an important step in the restoration and development of the mental health system in Ukraine, especially for our veterans who need support and assistance. We believe that cooperation between international organizations, educational institutions and volunteer initiatives will create a solid foundation for effective recovery and assistance to those who need it most.
We are grateful to everyone who is involved in this important cause and together with you we continue to move towards restoring peace, health and prosperity to our country!
